Our New Pawleys Island Location
We are excited to announce that starting in November 2006, Coastal Dermatology will have a new office in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. We will provide complete general, surgical and cosmetic services in this office on Tuesdays, Thursdays and select Saturdays. Dermatology esthetic services will be available Monday through Friday. Coastal Dermatology is pleased to announce that patients can recieve a unique laser treatment for sun damage and aging that is safe, effective and has no down time.
The Fraxel™ Laser is the lastest advancement in noninvasive skin resurfacing for patients with moderate to severe sun damage. Dark spots, sun damage, lines, moderate wrinkles and even acne scars are sucessfully treated using this procedure. In additional to facial skin, Fraxel ™ can also safely treat sun damaged and aging skin of the neck, chest, hands and arms.
Best if all, treatments are non to minimally invasive and require little to no down time per treatment session. You can return to your normal routine the same day.
The Fraxel™ Laser uniquely provides a way to treat skin safely using MTZ (microthermal zone) deposits of deep energy causing deep heating damage to only 20% of the skin with each treatment. The surrounding normal (nonheated) skin provides a protective shield to the damaged skin and results in faster and safer healing. Four to five treatment sessions are needed for optimal results.
Skin will appear red and slightly swollen for 3-5 days similar to a sun burn. Following this the skin will appear bronzed (tan) and will peel for 1-2 days. Make up and shaving can resume the following day.
